Today I spent time evaluating my current red raspberry bushes and planting a black raspberry and blackberry bush my husband surprised me with.

This raspberry is flourishing. I didn’t think I would have this one come back this year. I barely got anything from it last year.

This one was the heavy producer. It took a big hit when I tried to make homemade bug killer. Lesson learned too much dawn soap burns the plant 😔

This one suffered as well but it didn’t do great to begin with. Now I’m not sure whether to keep it or pull it. It hardly has any leaves like the other two. Could it be a late bloomer??

I also pulled up a baby raspberry to see if I could get it to grow.

For the black raspberry and blackberry the package said to soak the roots.

(This thing requires a huge hole)
